Our Impact
Many people believe short-term mission trips are ineffective, but our experience tells a different story. We return to Mexicali multiple times a year, establishing long-term partnerships with the same ministry sites and local Mexican churches. Over decades of serving these communities, we've seen many who accepted Christ through our VBS and other programs become leaders and pastors in churches around Mexicali. When interviewed, they often tear up and share how their lives have been transformed.

For more than 50 years, we have hosted church and school groups
We thank the thousands of volunteers who have gone before us and established the foundation for this ministry.

Years Serving Mexicali
Carolyn Koons, an APU professor, was invited by Amelia and Horace to their church in Ej. Cuernavaca is a small town in the Mexicali Valley. They became the pillars who founded the Mexico Outreach ministry.
275,000+
Thousands have participated
In 1999 and 2000, the annual number of participants reached over 8,500. These church and school groups came from primarily the United States and Canada. Only a small percentage were APU students. The annual number of participants has diminished, but the ministry continues flourishing in Mexicali.

VILLAGE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Mexicali Outreach is one of the most spiritually impacting experiences our students at Village Christian look forward to each year. Mexicali Outreach helps launch our students into future service and kingdom-minded living in college and beyond.
